SHIPPING RATES: This year there will be two options for dahlia tuber shipping. Both options are a flat price (same price regardless of how many you purchase). The option that only costs $8.99 will be shipped all together in a small box using a ground shipping method (usually USPS Ground Advantage). The tubers will be labeled but not separately bagged. The option that costs $18.99 will be shipped Priority Mail, and each tuber variety will be separately bagged with some vermiculite in each bag.
If you place more than one order, you can select the "add to existing order" shipping option. (Although I will ship your dahlia orders in the same box regardless, if I have to manually refund for combined shipping, an extra fee will be withheld from the refund to cover my time.)
If you want to purchase items that ship at a different time than tubers, you must purchase them in a separate order. So although you could purchase seeds in conjunction with your dahlia order, the seeds would not ship until your tubers ship, so this would not be advisable unless they warm-season seeds such as sunflowers. Peonies and bulbs are not eligible to ship in the same order as dahlia tubers, even if you were to want them that late.
SHIPPING TIMES: Shipping will begin in mid to late March to the SouthEastern states, followed by the mid-Atlantic states (around first week of April), and then the Northeast and Midwest (mid to late April). Shipping to the SouthWest will be around the last week of April, and the NorthWest will be between the last week of April and the first week of May. The reason for the later shipping to the west coast is because of having to cross the Rocky Mountains, which can still be too cold in early spring when using Ground shipping.
If you live on the west cost and want to wake up your tubers in advance, you may want to select the Priority Mail shipping option, because that would move your shipping time up to around the first or second week of April. If you want your shipment even earlier, you can purchase a heat pack to ship as early as the third week of March. (No shipping guaranteed earlier than that, and the heat pack may only be added if you selected Priority Mail shipping.)
TUBER SATISFACTION: I want you to be happy with your dahlia tubers, so that is why this year I plan to wait to mail the tubers until they have woken up enough to clearly see an eye or sprout, so that should eliminate any cause for concern since you'll be able to visibly identify the eye/sprout at the time that you receive the tubers. If for some reason you still are unsatisfied with any tuber, you must send a message/email within 3 days of the tubers arriving, and no refund will be given unless the tuber in question is returned to me.
Please note that although I may occasionally state that certain tuber varieties are small or thin, any tuber may be small or "ugly" or have bug bites, a cut in the side, or bumps/lenticles without my noting it in the listing, because that does not affect the viability of the tuber. So the appearance of the tuber will not be considered a viable reason for return/refund. I do not send tubers with broken necks, but there may be a couple with floral tape around the necks to strengthen weak spots. No occurence of gall has been found on any tubers this year, and the plants were very healthy overall. I do my best to clean the snips between varieties when cutting flowers, and I am very vigilant to clean all tools between each variety when dividing tubers.
CART & PAYMENT: Credit cards and PayPal are accepted for payment. Items will only hold in your cart as long as the inventory is available, so I recommend purchasing your most desired varieties first and then returning to add to your order so that you don't miss out on the really popular varieties. Also, this site does not have the ability to close down while inventory is being updated, so the site may not be completely updated at the time you first check on it on the day of the sale. So it will be a soft opening within about a half hour span, and you're welcome to purchase whatever is available when you see it, and then come back to see what else has been updated. I'll do my best to make items invisible that go out of stock. So if you see an "out of stock" item, its inventory most likely hasn't been updated yet.
Feel free to message me through the website if you have further questions, and I'll answer as quickly as possible. Happy Shopping!
